NSW Cup grand final: Penrith Panthers put Wyong Roos to the sword

PENRITH has claimed another NSW Cup premiership, downing Wyong in a tight grand final at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.

The Panthers won the decider 20-12 and dynamic halfback Darren Nicholls was named man of the match for an outstanding performance.

Winger Maika Sivo was electric, scoring a try and setting one up with a freaky offload before being bundled into touch.

The title makes it three in six years for coach Garth Brennan, who has been tipped to make the step up to the NRL.

The Panthers will now prepare to take on PNG Hunters in the State Championship on NRL grand final day next week.

More to come.
