Nathan Lyon takes second stunner of the summer to spark Australia at the MCG

NATHAN Lyon has done it again — producing a stunning moment of magic to rescue Australia.

For the second time this Ashes series, Lyon has reeled in a ridiculous grab worthy of being called the catch of the summer.

With England sneaking away to a promising opening partnership, Australian shoulders started to sag before the GOAT came through with his 61st Test wicket of 2017.

In Adelaide, Lyon produced an unforgettable caught-and-bowled — diving in front of Jonny Bairstow to take a leaping one-handed effort from Moeen Ali’s return offering.

That ended any hope of an England fightback. And at the MCG, Australia needed him again.

So he delivered.

With England’s opener approaching a 50-run stand, Lyon was introduced to the attack and struck almost immediately.

Mark Stoneman punched hard at a Lyon stock ball, and looked to have cleared the 30-year-old — only for Lyon’s go-go-gadget arms to extend and add another moment to his incredible 2017 highlight reel.
