PETRA Kvitova will play the French Open in what will be her first tournament since being attacked by a knife-wielding burglar in December, the WTA said Friday.
“Confirmed: Petra Kvitova will play @rolandgarros. Looking forward to hearing from her in an hour at her press conference,” tweeted the WTA Insider.
Two-time Wimbledon champion Kvitova, 27, a semi-finalist at Roland Garros in 2012, suffered career-threatening injuries to her left hand as she fought off an intruder at her home in the eastern Czech town of Prostejov in December.
