DANDENONG boy Ajdin Hrustic netted his first professional goal in style with a stunning left-foot strike for his Dutch club Groningen overnight.
Just 13 minutes after coming on, Hrustic pounced on a loose ball and cleverly struck the ball first time to catch PEC Zwolle’s keeper off-guard.
Hrustic’s strike iced a 5-1 win for Groningen, leaving them 10th on the Dutch Eredivisie table.
The 20-year-old has now made three substitute appearances as he edges closer towards a maiden start and catches the attention of Socceroos boss Ange Postecoglou.
“To win 5-1 is a great feeling, good for the team’s confidence and now we’re on our way to the playoffs,’’ Hrustic said.
The former South Melbourne and Heatherton United junior, who is also being tracked by the Bosnian national team, impressed during an Australian development squad camp in Spain last month.
